Delete pages / remove the book
If the structure of the Mz3 book needs to be changed and pages deleted, this menu item provides a quick and convenient solution.
Since now also PDF pages are treated as page images, you can also books that were created from one or more PDF files, simply “correct” in this way.
The reference page for deleting pages is always the page currently open in the book. This page will always be deleted by clicking the “Delete” button.
In a double page book always the right, opposite side. The open two sides form a logical unit; the “double page”.
Each book, whether single page book or double page book, always has at least one first page (or book cover) and one last page (back cover).
If several pages are to be deleted, you can enter the value for the number of pages.
Double pages must not be separated, as elements are often above the middle of the book and the logical unit is an (open) double page.
If you delete an odd number of pages in a single page book (which is allowed but not recommended!), An empty last (empty!) Page will be inserted since a book will always have an integer number of pages.
This is true even with “real” books: Only one “sheet” consisting of two pages (front and back) can be removed.
After the call, the number of pages is set to “2”, which applies to most use cases.
Another reference / home page can be made by scrolling through the book. The currently open, active page is taken over immediately as the start page.
The first and last page can not be selected.
This can be used if you want to delete all pages from and including the current page and want to save the arithmetic.
Then you just enter a very high value, and the maximum number allowed is suggested.
After deleting pages, the page count of the book is recalculated. A theoretically resulting odd number of pages is rounded up to obtain an even number of pages. This will result in an empty last page. This is also the reason why the page number does not seem to change when you repeatedly delete a single page.
