Open a JS package in the browser

If you use the Javascript version of Megazine3 to display the Mz3 book over the Internet in a browser, then the option of being able to test the finished book locally on your own computer is very helpful.
For this to work and you can quickly open the book in the browser using the command described here, a few preconditions must be met:

  • A local server must be installed
    We recommend installing an XAMPP server as a local server on the desktop machine.
    This complete open source package is quite easy and fast to install … and is free!
  • Set the publish path
    In order for the current book to be displayed in the browser with just one click, the JS package has to be saved in a special folder in the XAMPP path.
    This path can be quickly set in the Settings – Basic Settings settings-basic-settings}
  • Create a JS Package
    From the Command – Publish / Distribute menu:https://doc.megazine3.de/mz3tool., first select Javascript as an option for the Mz3 Book.
    Afterwards, click on the! https://manula.r.sizr.io/large/user/14418/img/publish.png! Button the JS Package be generated. It is stored by mz3Tool in the fixed XAMPP path.
  • Start the XAMPP server
    The local XAMPP server must be started explicitly before the Mz3 book can be displayed in the browser.

If all the conditions listed above are met, the file project / Mz3 Book can be opened by clicking on the Info – Browse XAMPP Project menu item in the default browser.
