Link buttons can be added to the navigation bar/burger menu. Those links can be defined in this window.
Link Buttons are either text links or icon links.

The configurable parameters are:

  • text link and tool tip
This text either is shown directly as a text link (if no icon is selected) or used as tooltip
  • URL/Link
This is a mandatory value: Either an external link as URL (like or an internal link as page number (1… page count) must be entered.
Common links are direct links to sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Also, the default mail program can be opened (with mailto: as protocol name)
Internal links can be used to go to specific chapters or the table of content
  • Select Icon
An icon is optional. If provided, the icon is shown, and not the text. The text, in this case, is used as tooltip only.

Via the “Select Icon” browse button a folder is opened, with some useful icons: Besides several social media icons also some general icons like an icon for “table of Content” are available
In this example, the Twitter icon was selected. The selected icon is shown for reference besides the browse icon.

Icons should all be of the same size. The size of the standard icons is 48 * 48 pixels.

An already selected icon can be deleted in clicking the icon.

If all settings are made, the button saves the changes.
Alternatively with all changes are ignored. This acts like closing the window.
In both cases, the overview window opens again.

In the above example there are already 3 link buttons defined, one text link and 2 links with an icon:

  • CONTENT: Text Link
  • Twitter: Icon
  • Instagram: Icon

This overview window offers the following options:

Add Button
Add another icon/text link

Remove Button
Delete the selected icon. An icon is selected in clicking the corresponding line.

Modify Button
Customize the text, icon, URL/link of the selected icon

All changes are saved

Go back to Javascript Settings window.

The general position in the navbar (left, center, right) can be picked from a dropdown list.

This way, all required links can be quickly defined.

The links are displayed in the same order as they are listed in the table. If as position “center” was selected (the default), the text links and icons will show up in the middle of the book, if shown as a navigation bar.
The position setting has no influence in case of a burger menu.
