Delete/remove pages from the book

If the structure of the Mz3 book needs to be changed and pages deleted, this menu item provides a quick and convenient solution.

The reference page for the pages to be deleted is always the currently open page in the book. This page will be included and deleted always when the “Delete” button is clicked; independent on the total number of pages to delete.
In a double page book the page on the right, opposite side, is deleted also. The open two page sides build a logical unit; the “double page”, and only can be deleted together.

Each book, whether single page book or double page book, always has at least one first page (front cover) and one last page (back cover).

If several pages should be deleted, the number of pages to delete can be entered.

Reason:
Double pages must not be split, as elements often span across the middle of the book. Two pages build a logical unit, a double page.
If an odd number of pages of a single page book is deleted (although allowed this is not recommended!), an empty last page will be inserted, because a book always must contain an even number of pages.
This is true for “real” books also: Only “sheets” consisting of two page sides (front and back) can be removed.

The default number of pages is “2”, which is a good fit in most cases.
If another reference/start page is needed, that page can be opened (selected) via the standard flip/slect options. A new page is immediately used as new start page.
The first and last pages can not be selected.

The book covers are locked and must not be deleted.

This can be used if you want to delete all pages from and including the current page and don’t like arithmetics.
Then just enter a very high number, and the maximum number allowed is used.

After deleting pages, the page count of the book is recalculated and adjusted. A theoretically resulting odd number of pages is rounded up to obtain an even number of pages. This will result in an empty last page. This is also the reason why the page number does not seem to change when you repeatedly delete a single page.
