The language-specific settings are available in a context menu that opens with a right click on the language code. That language is selected and the following options are available for that language:

  • Set As Default Language (set default language)
If this option is clicked, the selected language is set as the default language. The default language code is colored blue.
A default language must be defined. The default language is used whenever the local language is not available in the book.
By default EN is used as default language if available; unless it is changed using this option.
  • Remove Language
This command deletes the selected language.
  • Add Language
This command adds an additional language to the book. The language code (exactly two small letters, for example, “de” for German or “en” for English) must be entered. Alternatively to this command in the context menu the Add language button can used.

If the language with all content is to be completely removed, the first step should be to use Command – Modify Elements on Pages to show a list of all elements (page images, images, videos, sound, links) used and assigned to the language that will be deleted. Once all elements for that language are filtered, they can be deleted.
Then the language code can we removed from the book using the “Remove Language” command.
Another option for deleting all elements assigned to the language is to make us of the Clean-Up function in the Modify Elements Window after (!) the language code was deleted here (since only then those elements are orphaned and available for clean-up)
