Open a JS package in the Browser
If you use the Javascript version of Megazine3 to display the Mz3 book over the Internet in a browser, then the option of being able to test the finished book locally on your own computer is very helpful.
For this to work and to quickly open the locally saved book in the browser, some preconditions must be met:
- A local server must be installed
We recommend installing an XAMPP server as a local server on the desktop machine.
This complete open source package is easy and fast to install … and is free! - Set the publish path
In order for the current book to be displayed in the browser with just one click, the JS package has to be saved in a special folder in the XAMPP path.
This path can be set in the Settings – Basic Settings settings-basic-settings} - Create a JS Package
In the Pulish Window opened via the Command – Publish/Distribute first select Javascript as the option for the Mz3 Package.
Then click theButton to start building the JS Package. The package is collected and saved by mz3Tool in the path defined in “Basic Settings”. To work smoothly with XAMPP the “htdocs” folder should be defined as publish path.
- Start the XAMPP server
The local XAMPP server must be started explicitly before the Mz3 book can be displayed in the browser.
If all the conditions listed above are met, the Mz3 Title can be opened in the default browser by clicking on the Publish - Browse XAMPP Project
menu item.
