This window pops up once you clicked the Page Image Icon in the “New” window:
Here you can select the Page Images that should build the book. Every image will span across a page of the book. The aspect ratio of the page image should be identical to the aspect ratio of the book. Otherwise the page image will be “made fit”, and probably distorted; in case of different aspect ratios.
You can either use the option to open a browser window to search for the images and the select and open the selection. This is convenient, too:
- you don’t have to leave mz3Tool to open another program
- the allowed image formats are filtered
- the last path is saved and will be proposed the next time you open the browser using the “browse” button.
The disadvantage and risk is that depending on the amount of page images you select, the program might crash. This is an Adobe AIR bug, not addressed in the currently used version yet.
In such a case or as probably better option you can use a browser window to select the image of your choice but then drag&drop the images instead of open them. We’ve seen no problems with this method.
After you selected the page images, mz3Tool will propose the best settings it could find and adjust page count, page size, project name, language and kind of pages (single or double pages)
You can overwrite the proposed values if you know it better, but in most cases it should be a pretty good fit!
If all is OK you can and the Assign Page Images to Pages window will open.
