Another option for creating books automatically is the use of “Page Images” instead of converting PDF files.
Such Page Images represent exactly one page of the book each. Therefore they all must be of the same size or at least have the same aspect ratio.
mz3Tool will scale the images to make them fit exactly one page (or double page) of the book.
To create such Page Images you could use any design tool or image processing tool you know and own, like e.g.

  • Word (Microsoft)
  • Text Wrangler (Apple)
  • Open Office, Scribus, Gimp
  • Corel Draw
  • Photoshop (Adobe)
  • Lightroon (Adobe)
  • On1
  • Affinity Photo

Or as a professional user, you might tend to

  • InDesign (Adobe)
  • QuarkExpress
  • Microsoft Publisher

Most of those tools offer an option to export the “designed pages” as JPG, PNG or SVG image.
In such case, you’ll select all those images and drag&drop or import (open) them as Page Iamges; and mz3Tool wil automatically build a book or magazine out of the image collection

You might be tempted to use an export to a PDF file; what generally is working fine and could save some effort in defining page sizes, book type and page count.
But quality suffers a bit due to several conversion steps (e.g. document ->PDF, PDF -> SWF, SWF -> PNG, PNG -> JPG). It also will take longer due to those conversions.
